Clean for Life Guiding Principles
1. Eat Clean: Cleaning up your diet consistently is the foundation for staying Clean for Life and feeling your best every day. Let’s keep it simple. Have one nutrient-dense liquid meal a day like a Clean Shake or a green smoothie. Eat Clean whole foods like dark leafy greens, veggies, fruits, wild-caught fish, grass-fed meats, beans and legumes, and non-gluten grains. You’ve heard it a million times because it’s that important: Avoid or limit processed and artificial foods, ingredients you can’t pronounce without a dictionary, gluten, refined sugar, caffeine, soy, alcohol, and pasteurized dairy. That’s it. Plain and simple.
2. Supplement Right: Use supplements to help with deficiencies. Fish oil, probiotics, a multivitamin, and vitamin D3 are a good base to start with.
3. Move and Chill: Your body loves to move and rest. Give it both in significant quantities. To get your body moving we recommend breaking a sweat once a day, taking long walks with friends, and lifting heavy things like weights or children. To add more calm to your life, turn off the TV, get sufficient rest each night, and take 5 minutes to focus on your breath daily.
4. Go Beyond the Fridge: Body, Home, and Planet Clean isn’t just about the food you eat and the supplements you take. Awareness about toxicity and ways to reduce your exposure extends into personal and household products, relationships, and the thoughts you think.
5. Keep It Going:There are several ways to stay Clean on a day-to-day basis. Cleansing in small increments or combining methods can help you maintain your results. Stick close to the Elimination Diet, have a daily shake, drink more Green Juice, and do a yearly cleanse.
6: Create Your Team, Find Your Community: A strong network of support and guidance is a great asset to have on your wellness journey. Seek out a health care practitioner who you can be honest with, and who is comfortable exploring wellness in an integrated way with you. Connect with a broader community of people interested in Clean living through My Clean Program, a local farmer’s market or by starting a monthly potluck.
