Sometimes, even if you are doing great on the program, you may still feel like you are missing some the extra energy you were expecting. Increasing your protein intake will often do the trick. Some people try avoid eating foods with lots of healthy fats to help them lose weight while they detox. You can easily burn more fat with the energy you get from those foods than they actually contain. They are called "good fats" for a reason!
-50 to 90 grams daily, depending on your amount of exercise. (70 gram average)
-Omnivores: Cold-water fish, free-range, natural turkey or chicken, etc.
-Herbivores: Additional protein powder in your shakes (brown rice, pea, or hemp), lentils, spirulina, bee pollen (especially local), nuts, avocado, quinoa.
- Make sure you are getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty of water, and eating lots of leafy greens daily. Having a fresh green juice each day also helps with energy levels. If you continue to feel sluggish & drained of energy you might look into symptoms of adrenal fatigue, consult your doctor, or contact a wellness coach.
